Im getting a new laptop soon and I need a little help buying one.
My current PC has:
1.5gigs of RAM
2.0Ghz Processor
512mb Nvidia Gforce whatever video card with DirectX9 or 10
a **** HDD
And I can play games like WoW, TF2, and GMOD, on pretty high settings.

Now I want to get a laptop that is equivelent or better than my current PC without breaking the bank.
Here are my choices.

The main things im worried about these laptops are the video cards.
I have no idea ho to compare video cards, so if someone can help me that would be GREAT.

my choices:
1)cheaper buy with a wierd card, ive never heard of it, IntelĀ® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 384MB video memory; high-definition audio (2-channel support)http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspag [...] 1587727496

2) A radeon card that I think would be better, but I dont know the memory on the card NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M (UMA)http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspag [...] 4332255236

Thanks for the help in advance.

The X3100 is a basic DX10 capable video accelerator and is the most common video processor in laptops but doesn't perform very well. It is good for displaying Vista and watching movies but little more so if your planning on gaming I would go with something better.

Here is a review of the 7150m

Both GFX cards will only perform ok, if you don't mind low graphics.

If you game primarily buy a Desktop.

If you need mobility and gaming isn't a priority, buy a Laptop.

If you do both buy a $500 laptop and a $600-$700 Desktop and have both.

I have both. The laptop is great for mail, word, internet ect.., but when its time to do real work, its desktop all the way. The laptop takes four times as long as the desktop at anything like video, ect...

My laptop is 1.6 Centrino Duo 1G ram. $900
Desktop is 4.0 core 2 duo, 4G ram. $600

This is the best deal running on a quality gaming laptop for not too much money.

HP has some nice custom models you can build for not too much more.
(If you search for Coupons, they have a $400 Coupon you can apply, but they will end up costing more than the Gateway. However, they feel a little better quality.)
