(Doesn't fit in any one forum, so I think here is best)

AMD's done it again. The Phenom x4 9950 can OC like mad. Some people have gotten the thing up to like 4 GHz and above on air! And they're just so much more powerful and effecient than those POS Core 2 Duos. I mean, seriously, Intel can't get those things past 3 GHz and they're like a baby step above the P4's. Ah, P4's... those were the days.

However I can't say the same for the graphics side of AMD. I mean, c'mon, that underpowered, overheated, gargantuan GPU on the 4870x2 is barely worth the silicon used to make it. And they charge $700 for that thing?! What are they smoking?! Well, with Nvidia's new GTX http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gore-Tex 260 dominating the mid-range for $250 and their soon-to-come GTX 280 stealing the crown for just $500, I think AMD's graphics division is going to get a bad wake-up call. You don't stay on top like that for almost 2 years and stagnate your technology; that's the path to disaster.

And how about those hard disk drives? They're so bulky, they use too much power and they're slow on reads. The only thing they're got going for them is good writes, but really, it's not that much better over traditional flash based stuff. Do they really think large metal platters are going to eventually replace faster, and more effecient, NAND memory? Although a compromise between flash and platters... that might produce something good.

That reminds me of the MID side of things. Intel screwed up again and that Atom processor is a big waste. Slow, ineffecient and bulky. They should've known better than to step into VIA's territory. I think if VIA managed the R&D and the money, they could probably give AMD a run for their money in the Desktop and Laptop x86 market. Oh man, what an awesome battle that would be.

Lastly, OS X. Wow. What a barf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barf -inducing picture. I can't stand to look at it for more than 5 minutes. I mean, the interface looks two generations old, everything's slow, there's memory leaks everywhere. What happened to Apple's glory days http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glory_Days ? And now Steve Jobs has retired? How the mighty have fallen... looks like Windows will come back and steal the show with Vista and Windows 7. God I love Vista.
