PSU good enough for 4870?

Hey guys,
I have an OCZ GameXstream 600 watt power supply and was wondering if it could handle a single 4870 with the current configuration. Also, how much of a difference do you think a 4870 would make over my 8800gt?


-Current Components-

• Q6600 (G0) 1.3V @ 3.2Ghz
• Asus P5E X38 Motherboard
• 2x2GB DDR2-1066 2.1V
• MSI 8800GT OC @ 700/950
• OCZ 600W GameXstream PSU
• All the standard stuff (5 case fans, 3 hdd)

I'm going to tag onto this thread, as I have a 600W Enermax PSU (http://www.aone.co.uk/ProdInfo.ASP?ProductID=222) and want to know pretty much the same thing. Difference is my PSU only has 2 12V rails

I'll be purchasing or already have:

GO stepped Q6600, giving it a modest OC
2gb Crucial Ballistix 1066
Ati HD 4870
Asus P5E X38 Motherboard
3 SATA 7200rpm HDDs
2 DVD/Blu Ray Drives

If people think going for a dual core E8XXX is a better option for now, then I'll happily drop down a bit to save wattage.
I've been onto Thermaltakes Power check site and feel like they've underestimated the 4870 somewhat, given the reviews I've looked at.

Not sure about 4850 crossfire with the PSU, but I know it can power a 3870x2 (I had to buy a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter to overclock it though).

I guess I'm going to get 2 4850s and crossfire them.
Hopefully my power supply can handle it.... if anyone thinks this won't work please tell me before I order them tonight.
