I got a newbies question here, I was looking at SSD on an E-tailers site just a few minutes ago and was wondering, since most of them are 2.5'' how do you install them in a standard case. Is there a special bracket or some kind of support so they would hold in a standard 3.5'' bay ? I am just curious, not that I am going buy one just yet, they still at an outrageous price.

You can get 3.5" cradles for 2.5" drives, ones with built in cooling too if you want. SSDs are still very expensive, but if that's the way you want to go make sure you do plenty of research on it and get tons of bang for your buck. Then again, if you're a reader of THG then you already have a great source of info on SSDs ;)

G'luck!

yea you can just get a cradle, but many cradles are advertised as sound insalting, dont spend any more on some thing becasue it is sound insulating because it is a SSD and has no moving parts.

Can anyone post a link to one of these cradles? My newegg searches are turning up zilch. Thanks.
