I know i sound stupid but im just a newb with this kind of stuff

I need ideas on how to host my game.

My friend with his amazing computer :pfff: connected 50 times (50 separate clients) and my network use was at 5% (comcast highspeed) Cpu usage was at 10% on a pentium 4 2.80ghz 1024mb of ram I want to get 1000 people on a server at once. If my game ever gets popular enough

If you do the math the equals 200% cpu usage and 100% network usage. I can get around the cpu usage with a dual or a quad core I hope.

Problems

1. 21MB cache - I want my game to be a web browser game and if they download it from my computer it would take days
2. I want more than one server. So do I just buy a server and hook it up? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6859105403 not the one i was looking at but as an example
3. Look up there at my math if i have my internet maxed out all the time im pretty sure comcast would shut me down. Would T1 work. The prices sound fair and it is available where i live

I don't want use dedicated servers but i will if that is my only choice

Question
Are servers better to build or buy?
