Good point. But I in my eyes the fudzilla article actually says ...

1. Asus is using the same Chipset on the MATX as will will found on the mini-ATX.

2. Intel is promoting the mini-ITX....

the Atom will fit on both, Intel is not dictating that the Atom be only used on the mini-ITX. I don't think.

I think that in this case, Asus is concentrating on the power usage rather than the SFF aspect.

That's my take.
