well first of all im sorry if there is another thread like this but im just wondering what case should i get? I need something quiet and with amazing cooling my computer is running really hot right now im not sure what case i have, its at around 140 degrees Fahrenheit so yeah im kinda scared to push the pc. so yeah i basically need to know what case im pretty sure it would help alot!!!

I have a CM690. Fantastic case.
Masses of bays, and is made mostly from mesh, so cooling is good.
Comes pre-installed with 3 120mm fans as well to help you're cooling situation!

Well first off, what price range are you looking at.

The CM 690 has pretty good cooling for $60/70. Up to 7 120mm fans.

How did you determine that temp?

 

You should list your specs as well. For example SLI or Cross fire.

4 gig ddr2 800 mhz ram
Amd Athlon 64 x2 4600+
western digital 500 gb hdd
thermal take 700w pcu
nvidia (evga) 8800gt

those are my specs and i have a temperature display on my case so thats how i found out i want to stay under 150$ after tax i was thinking about the antec 900 BUT i heard they didn't think about the slot for the video card in the back and some people had problems connecting there monitors! To fix that they were lucky because they got sli motherboards and just connected it to the other pci-e slot so yeah! you guys know anything about that problem?
Im a little scared something is gonna burn out soon because the temperature.

Well, I have an Antec 900 and I haven't had a problem with my video card. It is a bit crowded in the case, but not too bad. As for the temp reported on a case display, they are often wrong. Try downloading Speedfan and get a reading from that. Of the four computer cases that I have, none run a temp as high as 150 degrees.

Hi mate,

There was another massive case thread were I posted some negative New Egg review links about the Antec 900. Apparently all the ho-ha with the slots and GPU connectors was resolved in revised version of this case ages ago:

I haven't got one but recommended it to a neighbour - so I was obviously concerned when I read the negative reviews (even if they were like 6/2000!!) I am still recommending the case to him...

depending on your budget there are quite a few but antec 900 is very good and not to exspensive. I have a coolermaster Stacker 830SE and its very good but i don't how much you can get it for i got mine cost price paid like R1200 for it... But Antec 900 case is really good!

I just switched to the Antec 900 and my temps went way down and with the fans on low & medium. It's not that loud either.

I have both the Antec 900 and Thermaltake armor cases. I am satisfied with both cases. The Antec has more fan slots but the Thermaltake is quite a bit bigger and presents good ventilation as well.

The Antec 900 is really nice. As is the CM690. The difference? You can pick up the CM690 for 19.99 after MIR:

I'd be getting it myself if I could find a *decent* PSU for a decent price (IE < $50). So I'm picking up the Sonata III for now. :)

the antec 900 case is nice the psu is on the bottom of the case which is nice for stability the fan on the top is a 200mm fan and all fans in the case have 3 settings l m h the only problem i have had is the wire routing but its liveable i paid about 100 for mine from comp usa where i live they are goin out of business and so i bought a few things from them but the coolermaster 690 is nice as well as the thermaltake cases if you want room i would go for the full tower style case with a removable mobo tray which is sweet for the build
