Will i get higher clocks with 2GB or 4GB?

well, if you had 2 sticks vs 4 sticks the two sticks would get a better OC....

Even so, i would eb leaning towards the 2x1GB sticks because theres less memory bits packed onto the chip therefore less heat and a higher OC! if you notice in shops, a kit of 4GB (2x2GB) usually has timings of 5-5-5-15 (for 800MHz), whreas a 2GB kit (2x1GB) usually has timings of 4-4-4-12!! that = more speed, however the increased AMOUNT of RAM would make the 4GB the better performance IMO, especially if on a 64 bit operating system.

No i'm getting a 2X2 CL4 800MHZ or 1GBX2 CL4 800MHZ

I use 4 sticks of 1gb 1066 OCZ Reapers and can get them to run at 1200mhz just fine, so I dont think it matters unless you run extremely tight timings.

Pretty much anywhere. Here's a search showing a bunch of them. I have 2 sets (8GB) of the OCZ Reapers (RPR800C44GK), running Cas 4 timings.

I think I'd like an answer to a very similar question: 2x2GB or 4x1GB?

2 x 2 is least taxing on your computer.

2x2GB FTW!!!lol

if 2 sticks will OC better then 4 sticks in general because more sticks means more juice is needed so it will put the mobo in a harder load to achieve the same speed.

its like a car, carrry 2 people and 4 people(sticks of ram),to reach the same speed(800mhz) it will need longer(lower speed) by using the same amount of fuel supply(voltage), if you want to get to that speed using the same amount of time(800mhz) as carry 2 people you will need to press the accelerator deeper so it can provide more fuel(voltage)

often people say running the memory at stock when they put in the 3rd and 4th stick the PC wouldnt boot because the default voltage is not longer sufficient even at stock speed.

you get the idea now?

No i meant is it better to OC with 1GB X2 or 2GB X2?

Reply to bnbader

it will be the same as long as its 2 sticks after all.

although there are more 4-4-4-12 timing 2x1GB sticks than there are 2x2GB.... more RAM chips=more heat=less overclock? in any case, the extra 2GB would make up for that IMO...
