Hi Everybody,

I'm looking to upgrade the processor in my laptop from an Intel Centrino Duo 1.83GHz (T2300) chip to whatever the most powerful processor that my chipset will take is.
Current spec. as follows:

Processor: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83GHz
Code Name: Merom
Package: Socet 479 mPGA
Technology: 65 nm

Chipset: Intel i945PM rev. 3
Southbridge: Intel 82801GHM

Any help would be greatfully appreciated,
Johnny ;)

Im not sure what the board is, it's in an Acer Aspire 5630 laptop, and all Im sure is that it's the intel chipset. Where would I be able to find out what it is, without taking it apart??

So its a laptop, i though it was desktop motherboard (because some desktop motherboards support Intel mobile CPUs)
well i think the max CPU that u can put on it is that T5600 u have, but to be completely sure u might want to ask from ACER too

It should in theory work with any other socket M core2duos with the same FSB speeds.
