Hello, my apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I've been considering a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7422 Notebook, to replace my slightly outdated Dell Dimension 4700 and have been wondering how the notebook compares to the desktop in terms of speed and processing capability?

those very old processors, i dont know crap about turion x2 but its dual core and slightly newer. i doubt the destops hits $200.

What would you like to use the laptop for? It should be fine for office use and surfing the web.

I would use the laptop for mostly surfing and e-mail, but I would probably also watch movies, games (not meaning high end games that require gaming computers that can cost thousands of dollars) and probably even get a TV tuner (Not decided on which make yet). When though it has 1 gig of RAM I may upgrade it to 2 Gigs or more.
