I am new to Apple as of today.

I purchased a iMac 2.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo w/a 20-inch LCD.

It arrived stock with 1GB of RAM; however, I want to upgrade to the full 4GB.

I am not well-versed in type and manufacturers. I researched your postings and discovered that Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, Micron and OCD are quality manufacturers.

Question: which brand should I go with?

I am sure you know this, but the iMac uses SO-DIMM PC2-5300 667 Mhz DDR2 memory.

Heh - I just added a gig to my mother's iMac: It uses DDR2 667 laptop memory, which goes into the two slots at the bottom, underneath the panel with the single screw. There are only two slots. So if you want 4GB instead of two, you will have to replace the 1GB card that's in there.

What you want to do is go to your favorite memory supplier and use their configuration tool to identify the correct parts. Like I said: You only have two slots, so you will need to buy two 2GB cards to put in there. Then you could sell the one that's in there now on eBay or something...

those are all good brands, I would go with whatever is the cheapest.
