I have a Dell E1705 Notebook and would like to get some feedback on good quality memory. Hard to choose from the different companies. Looking to getting 2x 1gb pieces. Also do a lot of multitasking with MS Office 2003 and play WoW at times in window mode, while having other MS Outlook and IE running.

I would use crucial's memory advisor. Crucial memory comes with a lifetime guarantee. Use their software to locate the right memory for your dell system. If you don't like the price on their website, check newegg or pricewatch.

I checked the Fry's electronics ad today, and they have crucial pc5300 notebook memory for $59.99 plus a $10 rebate for 2 1 gig sticks. They give you a 15 day return policy with no restocking fee. They will also install it for a nominal fee, if you don't feel comfortable taking apart your notebook.

I'll most likely order online. I noticed a big difference in pricing for Crucial memory. Not sure if there is a difference between the two because on the Crucial website it only had one type of memory for my system and had a different sku number than both newegg and zipzoomfly. Zipzoomfly was $45.99 for one 1g and newegg was $57.99 for both

The product numbers don't match. You can use cpu-z (a free download) and see if it will Id your current memory. The dell forum may also have some info. If you want to save time and potential problems, I would order directly from the crucial website and pay a little more. If the newgg memory doesn't work, you'll have to pay return shipping and a 15% restocking fee.

Thanks for feedback, just ordered off Crucial's website just to be safe. Thanks again.
