Hi, I'm building a new computer and since I don't have an HDTV I want to use my new LCD Monitor (whichever I get) to play my Xbox360 in HD. My problem is that on my current system I can't send my 360's sound through my Logitech Speakers. I wanted to know if there is an X-FI model that has a port on the back (or front for the high end model) that will allow me to run my Xbox sound somehow through my computer so it comes out my Logitech Speakers.

Thanks!

I found this out when trying to record

If you run the audio cable from your 360 through the line in it should play out your speakers.

I don't think any soundcards have the rca ports your looking for- you need a y cable

hmm I tried that once and it didn't work. maybe it was a software setting at the time.

I guess what we're talking about is running the audio part of the AV cables to the input ports on an audio card. Now, since theres no ports to fit an AV cable is there an adapter that will turn the male end of the audio cables into a type of male end that WILL fit?

Also, take a look at this pic of the X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card front panel. It has a lot of ports. Maybe 1 is what I need. Of course if I can avoid buying this expensive little toy I will. :)

Personally I'd rather get a cheaper version then that thing but if it easily solves my problem I guess its worth it. Also if it has better input options then the Mic input I will get better sound. I have heard that using the Mic input to send things to the speakers degrades the sound quality.

Thanks

I hear that a lot of speakers have aux ports for this kind of thing and that the Xbox is suppose to come with a cord for this but I don't remember seeing one... I'm not sure if the Logitech Z5300 speakers have the aux port anyways... I don't remember seeing one.

Hey i had the same problem when i first got my 360...wanted to hook up my sound card to it for best possible sound. I Suggest this

its very simple to use and very cheap for your 5.1 surround sound

can't you just use the optical out of the 360 to the optical in on your soundcard/motherboard?

x-fi platinum has all the features you are looking for.

Wow Lundi that is freaking AMAZING! Thanks!

Watsonrw - Those front 2 ports I see ARE AV audio ports then? It looked like it but it was hard to tell. Hmm if I can find that thing Lundi showed me in my area and don't have to pay a bit for it and taxes I may get it. Or I may just spend an extra few bucks and get the audio card. I'll have to look at the price difference.

Thanks
