Currently I have a GA-p35-DS3L rev1.0 and a E2180 4x1gig HP Patriot mem (4-4-4-12-800Mhz). This is where it gets funky. I currently have my FSB set to 356, PCI-E is locked on 100 (dont see a setting for PCI freq) and I do have my DDR2 Voltage to +0.4 (2.2v its rated for) I also have my CPU Vcore set to 1.5V in BIOS and I turned off all power saving features (C1E looks like the only one I have on this board). Ok so when I open up CPU-Z version 1.41 I get a vcore of 1.472V. That isnt 1.5. Also even more interesting is when I start prime95 to do small FFT's stress test my log says CPU speed 3560.01, CPU-Z says 3.2Ghz. not 3.56Ghz. Also I ran that prime95 test and about 30 seconds later I got a blue screen and my temps quickly rose to 71C. So why is everything not matching up? I know they said CPU-Z voltage for intel- core two CPU was off previous to 1.40 and below but I have 1.41. And why does my CPU read 3.56Ghz in prime 95. Even MORE interesting is according to dxdiag I have a E2180 2.0Ghz ~ 3.6Ghz. This is just bizarre. I have all auto settings off to my knowledge so Im pretty sure nothing is auto bumping voltage/frequenices. Any hints/tips would be great.

***Update*** also when I go to 'system' Vista reports my E2180 as 3.56Ghz. What the hell is going on? It doesnt make sense, Im gonna drop my FSB to 333 and see if it reads as 3.36, hench it looks like Vista/other is seeing my FSB as 200Mhz faster.

I figured something unexpected out....I set my FSB to 333 and when I booted to vista It reads it as a E2180 3.33Ghz. It became very clear that my Multiplies is x10 instead of x9. But I have it locked on x9 in the BIOS and CPU-z reads it as x9. Very strange I though the E21XX series was locked at a x9 multi. Gonna do some more testing.

***update*** now I am completly lost, Core temp 0.95.4 says 3330MHz (370.00x9.0) What the hell is going on?

***update2*** When I run Prime95 with CPU-Z open, a lot of the stats gray out and the only thing to display is the core speed 3330.0MHz Same for Memory tab, all grayed out. Strange.

I settled on a pretty decent speed. I set my FSB to 340 DDR divider to 2.4 bringing my total memory speed to 816Mhz, currently have 2.2V on the mem and I set 1.5V on the CPUcore. Played Hellgate:London for just over an hour while running coretemp during the entire session. Naturally I maxed out everything except AA, I just set that to medium. Afterwords I opened up excel and pasted the results from the coretemp log file. I then used sum average and my average temps were 60C. Strange thing is I the program crashed as well as another game I played when I went to start them. Ran it again afterwords and worked just fine. Wierd. But seems pretty stable otherwise. How long do you guys run prime95 and at what temp do you say enough is enough?

bildo123, Prime95 for at least 8 hours. Tcase (CPU) temperature and Tjunction (Core) temperatures depend upon whether your E2180 is M0 or L2 Stepping. From the Core 2 Quad and Duo Temperature Guide: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] ture-guide

"...Section 6: Scale...

...Scale 1: Duo...

...E21x0: Tcase Max 73c, M0 Stepping, Tjunction Max 100c, Vcore Default 1.312, TDP 65w, Delta 10c...

...-Tcase/Tjunction-
--70--/--80--80-- Hot
--65--/--75--75-- Warm
--60--/--70--70-- Safe
--25--/--35--35-- Cool...

...Scale 5: Duo...

...E21x0: Tcase Max 61c, L2 Stepping, Tjunction Max 100c, Vcore Default 1.312, TDP 65w, Delta 15c...

...-Tcase/Tjunction-
--60--/--75--75-- Hot
--55--/--70--70-- Warm
--50--/--65--65-- Safe
--25--/--40--40-- Cool..."
