I recently updated my mobo to an asus m3a79-t deluxe. I am having problems dropping the HT multiplier to 4x@800MHZ. With this board does the rule of keeping the HT link around 1000 still apply?? 6000+,4 gig of dominator ram, vista home premium 32 bit.

Thought I'd give a quick update.

Just got my little beauty to 3.5Ghz stable ;), thought she should do it. Just had to raise Vcore tad more then lower multiplier, the RAM and reset the timings. (Taught me not to skimp on cheap ram). Temps are still good but now 31 Idle @ Load reaches 49-53. Just hope the Phenom after the new stepping, overclocks just aswell!

Glad I found this thread, makes me hopeful I might be able to push my 6000+ a bit further than
3.25 (U120E). One thing though: if anyone here with a 6000+ ends up getting a Ph2 as an
upgrade, I'd really like to know what difference it makes. So far, no review site has bothered
covering this aspect of Ph2 at all, ie. as an upgrade for those with AM2 systems (I have an
ASUS M2N32 WS Pro mbd, 8800GT with 790 core).

Thanks for all the detailed advice, closed_deal! 8)

Ian.

Hi yukss and welcome to the forums :hello:.

Thats a pretty sweet overclock you have there ;). Whats your limiting factor atm, the HT multi was dropped so im guessing it's the FSB or RAM? Have you tried lowering the multi from 15 to 14 and raising the FSB?

I only ask as your vcore seems to be quite low for that higher overclock :sol:. You could even squeeze more out of it than the rest of us at that overclock setup :D.

Hello bro.. time without come around here. well i have made differents oc to try 3.4ghz stable. ie.

14*244:3416ghz

dropping the ram spped att 6677 (from 800)

the HT at x4

vcore in bioa at 1.475
ram: +0.1v

NB and SB at stock volt

In my case with this CPU, dropping the memory speed helped a lot.

Memory at 800 was rock stable only when underclocking to 2.8ghz.

My stable OC that I ran for a year was 15x220 (3.3ghz)with +100mv and memory at 667 (that was ~730 because of the FSB).
