Thermaltake TR2 430WATT

I was wondering would this PS be efficient for my rig, E6750, 1CDRW Rom, 5Case Fans, 1HD, 1Soundcard, and 7900gs. Thanks

I would think it would be okay for that. Did you have a budget for the PSU? I would recommend something with a little more amps on the 12V rail, since the one you listed only has 18A on the single 12V rail. Here's a link to power requirements needed for certain GPU's.

If you can spend a little more, than I would possibly get this:

It is only a little over $2 more than TTR2 430Watt!! (if you add in the S/H)
You get 29A's on the combined rails (350w/12V= 29amps) compared to the 18A on the TTR2 430watt. You can decide, but I would spend the $2 more and have room to upgrade the video card later. Mind you this PSU won't support all video cards out, but it definately would support quite a few of them.

You might want to consider an Antec Earthwatts 500W PSU. I just purchased one online from Frys on sale for $49.99 - NO rebate required - marked down from $89.99. A real deal.

The Frys stores in San Jose CA area also have the same special in their stores and you save the shipping - I bought mine online and paid $8 for ground shipping. By the way - this unit is certified to have 80% or better efficiency accross most power ranges and has two 12 volt rails @ 17A each.

No, it only has 18A available on the 12V rails. Look at the FSP ax450-pn here.

EDIT: The TR2 430W is an excellent PSU for a low power PC though, it has 2 80mm fans but runs very quiet

Yeah that would be better than probably the Hiper that I quoted earlier, just it would be about $11 more (after MIR) than the Hiper. Don't know if that difference would break the bank for him, since we don't know the budget requirements. I think any of the 2 we mentioned previously would definately be better than the original. Not that the original would be bad either, but he would have some more available power if needed later.

I ran that same TT psu in my old rig, a 3.2 P4 with a x1900xtx, 2 80 gig sata's, 2 gig ddr2533, fans and a sound card, and 2 dvdrw's.

Pulled it fine for over 2 years, changed vids to the 7900 GTO, great, and still pulling geat service in one of the office pc's now.

Should handle your load fine. That P4 pulled more load than the C2Duo you have, and same for the vid card. That 1900xtx was a power pig, and hotter than fire. Loud to boot! But, it pulled the frames in!

I ran an x1950 pro, 1 160gb HDD 2x512Mb DDR400, A64 3700 and it started to smell funny, constantly crashed and rebooted etc.
