Fremont, CA (August 1, 2007) -- CorsairĀ® http://www.corsair.com, a worldwide leader in high performance computer memory and peripheral components, today unveiled the environmentally friendly Corsair VX Series of power supplies. Designed and engineered for mainstream computer users, both the VX450W and VX550W supplies support the Energy Star 2007 Standard and feature the industry's most efficient power-management and ultra-quiet design available.

Unlike most power supplies in the market, the VX Series incorporates a single +12V power rail that delivers continuous power under heavy loads. This conservative design ensures reliable operation in today's most demanding system configurations and adds compatibility for future platforms. The unique combination of rock-solid performance and incredible value puts the Corsair VX family of power supplies in a class of its own. Available in 450Watt and 550Watt models, the VX Series is ideal for home theater PCs and Energy Star systems.

With Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) and 80% or more energy efficiency under a wide range of loading conditions, the PSU generates minimal heat during operation. In addition, the high quality thermally controlled double ball-bearing 120mm fan delivers excellent air flow with whisper quiet operation.

"Corsair has engineered a power supply that appeals to both the enthusiast as well as the cost conscious system builder," said Jack Peterson, VP of Marketing a Corsair. "We leveraged everything we learned from our award-winning HX Series of modular power supplies to build the most reliable, Eco-friendly value priced PSU in the market," continued Peterson.

The Corsair CMPSU-450VX (450 watt) and CMPSU-550VX (550 watt) are available immediately through Corsair's authorized distributors, resellers, retailers and e-tailers worldwide, priced at $85.99 USD MSRP and $99.99 USD MSRP respectively. Corsair's power supplies are backed by a 5-year Limited Warranty complete customer support via telephone, email, forum and TS Xpress troubleshooting guide.
