hey everyone. i have my pc is my basement, and i have a wireless card in my pc and i get awful connections, the speed always ranges from limited to no connectivity to 54 mbps, the signal strength never gets at very high, always at low, and i cant play counterstrike (which is an online game for those who dont know) or any other games online, which is very disapointing,
i know NOTHING about internet stuff, im guess my wireless card connects to this blue linksys box thats an access point? or a router? that is connected to a blue box that is the modem.

if any can help me out with my situation that would be great. I NEED TO PLAY GAMES ONLINE.

thanks

Your'e probably not going to get very good speeds for games even with decent wireless reception.

But if you want to have a go at improving it, you'll need to learn up on addressing the router user interface and resetting wireless channels etc.

Read the Linksys manual (you can probably download one for that model from their site). And the manual that came with your wireless card.

Alternatively, you should consider using a solution like Homeplugs -- mains plug networking adapters. Quicker and probably simpler to set up than wireless.
