hey i bought a second hand wireless router, it didnt come with any papers or a box. i thought thats fine, i have the internet... but its harder info to find than i thought!
i all have its an ethernet cable, AC and the router itself...
can you please tell me what i need to do to set this up :S ?!?!
also i think i need to connect it through my wired modem, or i would like to atleast

so i really would be greatful of your help...

You are implying you already have 1st router and cable/dsl modem. Is this what you are trying to do?

Internet <--> Modem <--> 1st Router <--> 2nd Rtr (u just bought)

If it's the Netgear router you mentioned before, download the manual from the Netgear website.

Make sure it's an ADSL router if your ISP is via phone. Or if you have cable make sure it's not an ADSL router.

Consult your ISP on the settings it requires -- sometimes these are available for common brands like Netgear on the ISP's home site, under Help.

fihart is correct, and if you post a make and model I will be able to supply you a password for your routers settings page. But you need to phone your internet provider to get the settings for your router

hey yeah i was gunna say the model, forgot i suppose, Netgear WNR834M
i really thought i knew what to do lol, i guess its harder than i thought...
i would rather not contact my ISP, NTL, as we just dont get along.... if there is any other way around that?
also the netgear website doesnt have the manual anymore... :S i guess they havnt updated there site... if there is anything els you need to know?

The manual is on the Netgear site, you just have to right click on the file name and "save as".

There should be a setup wizard within the router user interface which will guide you thru connecting.

yay i got the manual downloaded, but its no good... first off it says refer to the installation guidr supplied on the CD(which i do not have) and then also shows a table, left side with lanuages and the right side black, it said please refer to the link next to your language for the online setup menu.... man this really is not turning out so great for me, thanks for all the help so far
oh and also what do you mean by setup wizard? i dont have a software CD if that what i need... oh man!!!!
