I forgot my password for my Dell computer and I'm trying to figure out how to delete Microsoft Windows and then reinstall it. i have the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition disc and when i put the cd in the computer and restart it, the program doesnt show up. I'm not sure if I need to buy a new one or if I can do it manually. Please help me to solve my problem.
Thank you

You need to change the boot order in the BIOS (f8 on startup) to boot off the CD.

If you simply forgot your user password, you can use the default admin account to change your user account. You don't have to wipe it out for that.
