How do I restore my XP pro edition without having to use the the start-sistem tools-restore? I know there is a key when it restarts that I dont know that goes straight into restoration process?
When I want to acces anything it says - Windows cannot acces the specified device,path or file. You may not have apermission to acces the file- How can I do this? Please help

if this helps at all, I get an error when I restart: C:/windows/system/smss.exe is not a valid win32 application. I found this file and it has a key on it and weird looking. I took it out of the folder and now windows is looking for it, but still dont have acces to anything important in the computer. plese help

You deleted the Windows NT Session Manager file. Boot from a Windows XP CD into a Recovery Console and restore the file from the I386 folder on the CD.

Pitty I dont have the CD....can I boot into recovery without the CD thou ?

No, but you can use any Windows XP Pro CD.
