I downloaded the Intel TAT utility, but it tells me I have to install in an admin account and I only HAVE an admin account at the moment. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Mine told me the same thing, but all I had to do was hit the OK button and it ran. Have you tried disabling UAC?

User Account Control

It is automatically set under user profiles. It is what causes the sometimes annoying permission pop-up in Vista. It can de disabled by removing the check mark.

I disabled it, and when I go to execute it, I see a window pop up then disappear right away. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, but it just won't work. I downloaded version 2.05 from Techpowerup. Is there another location or newer version I should try?

I have Vista 64-bit if that matters.

right click on the name or icon and select "run as administrator" from the pop up menu! You have to do a lot of that in Vista

Thanks. Program starts then quits on its own immediately. Must not be happy with 64-bit Vista.

I am getting the exact same thing. I cannot get it to work. I have a 64bit vista system. I wonder if there is someone out there with 64bit vista that is running TAT.

Run as Admin or UAC or Windows Defender are not the problem, x64 versions of vista require a signed driver. So any application (and a bunch of the OC tools so) that requires a driver to load that is not signed will not work.

Do a search on disabling signed drivers and you'll come up with more then one option.

Thanks for that. But it still just starts and closes on its own after disabling required signed driver.
