Well i think it's a sexy rig, the only thing i would change is the Leadtec 88gtx cus personally im not a fan of them, a fair few people claim that they're not the best overall, i personally love BFG :P lol, but obviously it's your choice since it's your money! :D Good luck with it whatever you choose to do. I'd recommend reading reviews on ALL the hardware your buying, it'll take some time but it'll help you out a lot, they usually go into the overclock of it when possible.

Good Luck!

yer i read that guide but i heard the DFI 680i is a very detailed overclocking board

Bump that raptor up to 150Gb and partiton it for NCQ, make sure the WD500Gb is also NCQ (WD5000AAKS). One 8800 GTX will do.

You could have some fun with a 32Gb SSD to load the operating system.

i was going to use the raptor for OS

lol yer i know 60's alot how many do u think 30max
also i have a dilemma im not sure if i want to watercool instead of air this is my first build wats better for me, im a pretty technicaly savy if that helps

I'd probably look at the stacker 832, its a bit better... Many will swear on the antec p-series of cases, and they aren't bad choices either. Lian Li is a bit tough to source here in AUS, but are also excellent cases.

The Silverstone OP model would be a better PSU. (Jonnyguru.com)

I'd look at the EVGA GPU oc'd version.

The raptor's a bit of an overkill pricewise for what you get, but hey... I've got the 150 GB, so who am I to argue? So if you're set on a raptor, get the 150 or at least one of the newer versions of the 74 GB that does sata 300 and NCQ

Where'd you find the 120 ultra extreme?

I'd use the arctic silver 5 instead of the ceramique, and a 5 gm tube will last you for years...

im getting the ultra extreme from http://www.pccasegear.com.au/ its in vic

y do people say that the 832 is better and im not sure on which lain li case to
get.

Thanx for the thermal paste tip

the silverstone isnt modular does it really make that much of a difference

also im not really set on the Raptor i was just advised to get it and make it a boot drive

Reply to pattherat111

the 832 has more / better fan options, IMO. Since I've not looked for cases for a while, (and will buy my case locally to avoid shipping) I really couldn't comment on the newer Lian-Li cases at this time, but their reputation's always right up there

as to the silverstone not being modular, well, that's part of the reason that you got 60 ties, yes? There is a lot of for / against on modular, so I won't go there. But the silverstone has some really clean rails, will put out its rated wattage, and will do so in some fairly extreme environments. To me, that's worth having to figure out where to put / what to do with the spare cables.... PCP&C would be slightly better, but try to get one in AUS...

Thanks for the tip on the Ultra Extreme....

kool thanx mate for the help could some one also clear this up for me can i use the side panel on 832 with Ultra 120 Extreme

Reply to pattherat111

Yes, its a huge case. Look at the specs on CM's website.

Reply to croc

i just heard some people say u cant and others u cant its 19+inch wide

Reply to pattherat111

the 832 is 250 mm wide, the 120 extreme is ~ 160 mm tall.... So unless you are planning on using side fans 90 mm tall, there should be no issues.

lol true.

i have changed my ram to OCZ 8500 Reaper because um im not sure but i want to be able to have this ram for a while hopefully until DDR2 goes away.

I will be overclocking the cpu but insure how to overclock the GPU

Reply to pattherat111

Hence my evga oc model recommendation... Pretty good OC, and comes with a warranty.

Reply to croc

yer i couldnt find one on staticice that would suit my budget they were 900+

Reply to pattherat111

They are a bit pricey... But your original budget seemed to sugest that price wasn't much of an issue....

I think that if you post a specific question in the graphics forum as to what card oc's the best, you'll get good results. and possibly some 'how to' advice.
