I cant burn dvds but can burn cds. Ive tried using Nero and ConvertX to burn dvds. It will go through the whole process and tell me burning was completed but there is never anything on the disc... Any help is muchly appreciated =)

try updating the firmware of the burner... you can find it on your manufacturers website.
Make sure your using compatible burning media. Some burners won't burn DVD+R or some might not burn DVD-R. And only a few burn DVD-RAM. So make sure your disks are compatible w/ the drive
