I have a mimo dlink wireless router. I am using a standard g wifi adapter with my laptop, not the super g stuff.

The max transfer rate is supposedly 54MBit/s right?

But when I transfer a large file, my speed is only 2.4MByte/s.

Is this normal or is something wrong? It took me over 20 min to transfer 3 gigs of data. Maybe thats good, or maybe not?

2.3 MB/s= 18.4 Mb/s

That seems perfectly normal depending on signal strength.

on that note, are you transfering from your laptop using wireless to another host using wireless? if so, then you could say you are getting 36.8 Mb/s
