I bought a SonicWALL PRO 330 off of eBay. The auction showed that the firewall was fully functional and that it had the latest firmware. I booted it up when I got it, and sure enough it had a good firmware revision on it, however I did not know the password. I was not able to ever contact the darned seller again. So, I did some research and found that all I had to do to wipe the config was to hold down the reset button. That's great, except that now I see this when I connect to the firewall:

The current firmware file appears to be corrupted.
Please select a firmware file:

I do not have a firmware file, and I cannot buy support for this unit from SonicWALL, they want me to trade it in for a recent model which would cost me a fortune. Is there someone out there with one of these old beasts that can provide me with a firmware file, even an older one? I just want it to work!

Hoping someone can help me to keep this slick unit from becoming an expensive paperweight!

Sadly that won't work for me, since the unit is used it says it's already been registered.

Just googled firmware update for the SonicWALL PRO 330 nothing came up for anyplace to download firmware but from the mfg. Other than contacting the original owner or finding some that has that, you may be screwed. :(

I do have firmwares versions (6.3.1.4, 6.6.0.6, 6.5.0.4, 6.4.2.0) for Sonicwall.
Let me know if you need some.

Hi - currently my 330 is running 6.6.0.6. Does anyone know if there is a diff. revision that might help me out w/GRE pass-through?

If you take a photo of the serial number on the firewall you can transfer the registration to your mysonicwall account without the interaction of any other party. It takes 48 hours to complete however you will get access to the firmware you need and have the firwall actually registered in your name. I actually just ran into the same problem and am waiting for sonicwall to transfer the registration now. I have had to do this a time or two, its a big pain but if you go the transfer route first, finding firmware is so much easier in the future.

Ohh forgot to add,

In an email to customer_suport@sonicwall.com include the following:

- Email address of your user account to transfer the firewall to
- Serial Number of the firewall you want to transfer
- ***a photo of the serial number on the firewall**** or a technical support report
(most likely if you are transfering the registration its because you need firmware, and you cant get the the tech support report, thats why I always include a photo of the SN on the back, for Sonicwall it is their form of proof of ownership)

If this old sonicwall was participate in an upgrade program.
You are not going to be able to register a product to download a firmware.

Hi i had a similar problem, and emailing a photo of the serial seemed to work, they moved the product registraton over to me. I currently am using Firmware version: 6.6.3.0-3s

Does any one have a Enhanced version firmware they could sent to me?

I desperately need the firmware for the PRO 330, I've tried registering with Sonicwall but they cant transfer it due to the previous owner using it under a secure upgrade programme.

If anyone has the firmware could you please email it sonicwall@thedeehans.co.uk?
