Hi guys , i am a musician and i am building a new system , but i am confused which Vista (Basic, Premium or Ultimate) is suitable for music productions and why, appreciate for your help and thnx in advance.

Premium will probably be just fine, but whatever hardware and software applications you'll be using for your music producing will be a solid factor here, as to what drivers will be available for what operating systems versions like 32bit or 64bit.

 

My situation using M-Audio soundcards to link to my amps and speakers, on my 2 DJ computers is drivers, Vista64 only Beta available, Vista32 does have drivers available finally, but in my situation and circumstances with the soundcards I'm running, I've left both those machines on WinXP Pro, of which the drivers are rock solid.

 

So I would suggest thoroughly investigating your intended hardware you're planning to use, and see what drivers for what operating systems are available, and include that in your initial planning stage, I'm sorry if this hasn't been any help to you, I'm a music player not a producer. Ryan

Thx ryan , thnx for your reply, i am using MOTU traveler and cubase 4 with several plugins. i was wondering if i can get an advantage of 8 GB of ram .
