Dear all:
When I plug CE-device into Win98 USB port at the first time, the
Win98 asks
me to install usb driver. The following 2 files:
- wceusbsh.inf
- wceusbsh.sys
seem to be nessary.

I found that those files also exist in the USB driver of the
Platform Builder.
For example: Those files exist :
C:\WINCE420\PLATFORM\SMDK2410\drivers\usb\function\

If I want Win98 know my CE device, I must install the 2 files ?

The MS's software ActiveSync also have the same named files.
The 2 files have copyright? Can I install ActiveSync's file?

Thanks for your hint.

Ideally you would point Windows two those files on the installation disk
that came with your device. If you install Microsoft ActiveSync then it
includes a limited number of devices in those two files, if your device is
an HP iPAQ chances are it is included, if it's something else, or older it
may not be included.

Ideally, get these files from the CD that shipped with the Ipaq as those
will have the specific device information in them.

I would not trust the files from any development site as they are likely
to be out of date...

If you do not have the CD, install the latest version of activesync
which will install these two files... the date critical one being found
in \windows\inf
