How practical is it really ?

Don't you get eye strain, or tired from constant scrolling ?

It depends on the person. There are those who will get tired, and those who
won't. I wouldn't say it is easy as reading on the big screen of a computer
or watching TV, but I can do it for quite long times.

If your main use for the device is reading e-books or long texts of other
kinds, let me suggest you choose an Ipaq 4705 with its large VGA screen, or
other device with smaller screen, without going for less than VGA support
(like Dell X50v, Fujitsu Siemens Loox 720, and Asus P730W).

Other users, that use the device for shorter reading tasks, can go for QVGA,
but for long-term readers VGA is a must.

Nope - constant optimal illumination, adjustible text size, and a light,
convenient pakage that's easy to hold at an ideal distance, means I much
prefer leisure reading on my PDA to paper books. In all my years of being an
avid reader, I've never found a completely comfortable way to hold a paper
book, particularly the extra-thick ones and hardbacks. As to the scrolling,
do be serious - an intermittent light press of the thumb is nothing, it
never even occurred to me that anyone would consider that factor.

Same opinion as Tony... it's also an "acquired" taste... which, once
obtained, will spoil you against reading dead tree books from then on ;-)

Well, I just finished reading the entire Warren Commission Report on JFK's
assassination as an iSilo book on my HP 4700! I'm an avid reader, and always
enjoy reading a good book, but I'm finding no real problems reading lengthy
books on my PDA. I also enjoy reading magazines via Zinio on the PC, too.
