Hi all
I'm out of home and i'm needing to install an app on my ipaq H5550. I
installed ActiveSync 3.8 on a friend's PC but I have not here the usb
cradle to do a first "wired" sync. So, is any way to establish the
bluetooth connection between the PC and the pocketpc WITHOUT doing a
wired sync first?

I can connect both devices and put/push files. The problem is only
concerning ActiveSync

Thanks in advance
Nacho

Hi again.
I've done it using ActiveSync 4.0 With it, you can set up the
connection without connecting firstly the PDA with the cradle.

Thanks anyway
Nacho

You should be able to check the BT management software on the PC and see
what comm port is an available BT port. If you are using XP SP2s BT stuff,
open the manager, go to the COMM tab and see if a port is available. If not,
add one. Take that COMM port # and put it in AS's serial connection box.
Go to the BT manager on the PPC and set up a new shortcut. It will be an
ActiveSync one. Follow the prompts and it should get you an AS shortcut
that works with the PC.

It should work because BT is actually a serial connection, just like a wire
or IR. It's not a network connection like WiFi, which dies require the
machine to already have been partnered. The trick is having the BT port
setup, an picked in AS on the desktop first.

It would work if Nacho had the first ActiveSyncWizard completed - but in his
case there's no cable to do it... It is a hard problem - someone said in
another reply that AS 4.0 does not require the Wizard first. Worth a try.

You mean to get by the initial connect your device wizard? If you are
persistent you can get by that and have AS up with no initial connection.
