I have Vista 64-bit and I am having a problem with Internet Explorer. When I try to open IE it does not open right away, it usually takes half a minute or longer before it pops up. Could this be because of spyware? I am using avast anti-virus. The same problem occurs when I try to open FireFox. When I do get IE to open it times out alot (Program Not Responding). I understand Vista has issues and even more issues because I have 64-bit. Any ideas/solutions to this problem?

I'm running 64 bit, and have no issues opening programs/browser. Follow the instructions here for troubleshooting: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926449/en-us
