I have looked on the web for this with no luck, the pc is an upgraded XP from 98 I beleave. I tried to use an external hard drive to transfer files and the hard drive would not show up in my computer. I did have an digital camera there but the camera was not plugged in. I looked in the manage / disk management, and the external drive was there I even tried to activated the drive in hope my computer would see it, did not work. I went into the device manager to see if there was any problems none. I even uninstalled Kodak solfware for the camera in hope the usb would release the camera in hope it would see the external hard drive, no help. I have not looked into the BOIS yet will do this tomarrow. Does any one have any ideas?

Try plugging it in a different usb port and unplug any dvd device that you're not going to use.

Good luck
