Has any on tried to use the vista flash boost utility. I put a brand new 4 gig PNY flash drive in and it said it didn't have the required performance it need. I put a old 512 flash drive in by cruzer and it worked. Does Vista have certain requirement for flash drives. Bruce

Yes, Vista has requirements for ReadyBoost, which you can find on a variety of sites. There is also a hack to make Vista accept any flash drive, but that might not be too useful on slow devices.

these are the min requirements for windows vista ready boost, what they don't mention is that i think it works on only certain brands maybe, neverless these are the tech min specs

* The USB Key must be at least USB 2.0
* The device must be able to do 3.5 MB/s for 4 KB random reads uniformly across the entire device and 2.5 MB/s for 512 KB random writes uniformly across the device.
* The USB Key has to have at least 64mb of free space

I did find a registry edit that you can do on the flash drive to make it work and it did. Bruce
