locks up on download

I dont know why but every time I try to download a game demo, my computer just locks up and I cant do anything, forcing me to reboot. I use w/xp pro sp2, mozila firefox web browser.

Register or log in to remove.

Create a Download folder on the "C" drive.

Inside FireFox, go up to Edit - Preferences - and direct FireFox downloads to that folder. FF's default is the Desktop, which may or may not be a problem.

Try that.

If I may.... Do not dnload to your primary partition if you can avoid it,windoze does not need any help screwing up your hdd ,do your dnloading to anther partition,if you dnload to your primary partition you will end up installing on ,,and ,, also writing to a temp file on the same partition,this will further defrag,snafu, your primary partition..:)
Not trying to start something here....
