Creative Zen MP 3 player. Broken? Help please.

Please forgive me for asking this question in the homebuilt section, I thought there were more readers here.

I Just got a Creative Zen Vision M MP3 player and I'm having a horrible time trying to get it to work properly.

It doesn't seem to respond to the controls very well or else I don't understand them very well or at all. If it starts recording ( which I don't want it to do, it's almost impossiple to stop it.

Is it possible that the device or the controls are all FUBAR'd. It seems very UN intuitive. I can't believe that it's that hard to use or else it's defective. How do I know if it's defective and I have a bad unit?

The instruction manual seems poor and inadequate to me.

What are the chances the device is bad? Any users with experience with this player out there?

I've already gotten an RMA from the egg, but it's a replacement, not a refund.
