I've been having installing Windows XP PRO with SP2 on a new computer. When I am installing, it always says a lot of files cannot be copied to the disk. When I try to skip copying the file, sometimes a blue screen comes up saying I should restart my computer (The blue screen of death?) Does anybody know how I can fix the problem?

I'm Currently on:

ECS L4VXA2 motherboard
2.53 Ghz Pentium 4 [533 mhz FSB]
Geforce MX400[64 mb]
DVD - rom drive
Two Hard drives [20.5 gigs and a 160 gig]

hi.
reformat and make a clean install.
there is no reason why the files can't be copied on hd,which is still new(formated)

I've never installed XP on it. I tried re-installing many times, and it keeps on doing it.

hi.
maby then you have a faulty copy of windows.
is your copy genuine??
try install the win from an other copy.

It's genuine, and I tried making a couple more copies, and it still doesn't work. I think it may be the motherboard.

It could be 1. Bad CD, 2. Bad CD Drive, 3. Bad Hard Drive or 4. Bad Memory.
