WMP 10 works fine.

Lately I have been using WinAmp. It's been around for quite a while. I used to use it a long time ago and recently started using it again. It suites me better than WMP. Give it a shot.

If you get winamp, get the older version. I believe 3. Download Dee with it. It sounds great.

I use nothing but Windows Media Player.

Does it play videos, though?

I use VLC Media Player, which is free, lightweight on system resources [not a great interface but it works] and can play pretty much any file format you throw at it - it hasen't let me down yet. Go to VideoLan's Homepage to download.

Both WinAmp and Windows Media Player (obviously) play video files although additional codecs might need to be downloaded. I agree with Taj on VLC, I haven't found a format it can't play either.

+1 on playing videos with VLC. It's awesome. I use it on my XP box and my Linux box.
I still like WinAmp for music.

foobar2000 = best Music player
BSplayer/ Media Classic player = best video player
Power DVD 6 = best DVD player

Windows Media player 11 is also great.

But Foobar2000 kicks most Music player but.. it even plays flac format music

I like BS player. It has more stability for me than WMP on my old system. Newer builds do have adware, but you can delete it.

VLC can't play real player format however, and that's the format I often use to download tv series since it's a lot smaller than avi or mpg and has almost no difference in quality as well.
I recommend KMP player, it's best used by professionals since it has so much functionality and uses. http://www.kmplayer.com/forums/index.php, select "English"

Damn blank posts... any mods figure out what's causing this yet?

For me I always use WMP because it has the very clean interface with nice features. Now I am using WMP 11 Beta and I really love this player. Even though it is a beta still I didn't have any problem with the player.

To know WMP 11 Beta Featurs:

To Download WMP 11 Beta (XP):

Note: WMP 11 Beta requires a Genuine Windows to install so it wouldn't install on a pirated version.

Don't think I've seen anything like this in any other forum before... it's damn weird.

i have used wmp (9) winamp and itunes.

lately ive been using itunes because i like it better with my ipod than winamp with the plugin.

i always use vlc for video and power dvd for dvds (they have it covered) i have quicktime installed as well for streaming

itunes is OK if you only have mp3 and aac music (my entire collection is pretty much mp3 vbr)

winamp is kickass if you dont have an ipod though.... (id go with winamp if not for my ipod)
