Hi, i would like to know wich is the best programs to use with a TV Tuner to record show on television?? I already use Cyberlink Power Cinema 4.0 but i would to know if it is a better one because this one only encode video in mpeg and i would like to have AVI format.

Cyberlink, BeyondTV, etc. are bloated pieces of junk intended for people who don't care about recording quality. The newer version of ATI MultiMedia Center is a buggy, bloated, pathetic mess.

If you are a little bit of a hacker, try chris-tv.com. I was not willing to hack and used the next solution:

If you don't have a tuner yet (or toss it if you do), get the ATI USB Wonder 2.0. It lets you install the older ATI MMC version which is the best capture software ever. Control is simple and a 15 Mbs MPEG2 recording with this device is virtually lossless.

For free you can use VirtualDub to record AVI, again with some hacking through an interface that exposes a lot of low level Directshow stuff.

I would choose: ChrisTV or iuVCR (some russian developement, not so nice as ChrisTV but less resources are needed).
