XM Radio Online Moble (Beta)
Forum PDA : Windows Mobile - XM Radio Online Moble (Beta)

This actually works better on my wifi PPC than it does on my broadband
PC... you have to be an XM subscriber (if you have an XM radio
subscription, the online subscription is free)
Tip, select "Low Speed" and be patient until WMP loads...
Limited channels compared to the direct reception... primarily music,
very little talk and no sports or news... only two of the ten channels I
normally listen to are online.
Since the beta requires you to input a channel number, a ppc formatted
table of the available channels is at http://bevhoward.com/stuff/XM-OL.htm
Thanks to PocketPCThoughts.com for the heads up on this.

Thanks Beverly. I agree with your quality assessment. I'm sitting here
typing on my laptop; my wife on our desktop; and me listening to XM on an
Axim X30. Sounds fine. These are the same channels that are available at
the xmradio site. I may just start using wifi again, thanks to you.

Hi Bev,
Do you, or anyone else out there in cyberland, know if there is a
similar capability available for Sirius Satellite radio?
TIA
Mort

Don't have a clue. I saw one post on the PPCThoughts forum that
complained of Sirius' lack of initiative with online access options.

If you are a Sirius subscriber, you have access to most of the radio
stations while online. go to www.sirius.com and click Listen in the upper
right corner. You will need your username and password that Sirius sent you
if you gave them an email address.
You can even get a free three day pass to sample the service.

I figured it out. I had to download a 580 byte file and saved it to my
videos as xstream.wma. Went to file explorer and clicked on it and it
worked.

Care to elaborate more?
Are you saying you have the Sirius webstream working on your pocketpc?
If so do you have a url for the 580 byte file you mentioned? I'm a subscriber
and I posted awhile back about trying to make the stream work on my ppc and
wifi but no one replied.
Thanks

Mort,
I wasn't able to find anything like xstream that was applicable to ppc
platform. However, I did stumble on to something at www.aximsite.com. Search
the forums for "sirius" and you'll find that someone has written an app to
play the stream but it seems like it quit working a week or so ago. The author
has updated it in the past and hopefully will do so again soon. It seems we've
been missing the boat. I didn't know this app existed until today and it seems
the people that were using it when it worked were very happy.
