I've spent about 6 hours tonight trying to set up my wireless LAN access on
my new IPAQ with my Linksys router settings. I know I'm not an idiot,
because I have another computer and an xbox on this B (not G) network that
work fine with the same SSID and Pre-shared Key/passphrase. (I've tried
both options to no avail.) I can get the network to show "Available" for
about 10 seconds, and then it stops and shows unavailable. I do use
special characters in both my SSID and my password - but I've tried
changing both to simple alpha phrases to not avail.

What am I doing wrong? Is it this complicated?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds to me like you might be trying to enter the password as an alpha
phrase instead of a hex string.

Is your router set to use 128-bit encryption? My iPAQ won't work on if my
router is set to 64-bit WEP; has to be 128-bit.

Hi,

I have also the such a problem when I should connect my AXIM X50v to my
Linksys accesspoint. I read in the manual I should use the Odyssey
Client to setup connect to Cisco / linksys wireless lan. After doing
this is there no problem to make a connection. I use WPA / TKIP.
