Does that ppc have one of those file stores in addition to the RAM? Doesn't
that remain after a hard reset?

>> safe stores <<

with no card in the device, navigate to \storage... (name varies on
different devices) and delete what's there.

Then determine if there is a pim/data backup (normally in
start/settings/system) and determine if it was active. If so, turn it
off, delete all contacts, _then turn it back on_ so that it will
"populate empty" exit and hard reset.

Then go back into the contacts and verify that there are none.

Note... for high security situations, anything in ROM storage will
_probably_ be persistant... i.e. the data will be there but the fat
entries will be blank and the contents therefore _theoritically_
retreivable. I have never heard of anyone accomplishing this though.

If you have to deal with this possibility, fill storage memory with
large files containing only junk or spaces, then erase them... if
contacts safe store has been used, generate a dummy contact full of "x"s
in all fields and import multiples into contacts with safestore on.

If all data was only in RAM, a hard reset permanently clears all of that
storage.

Many users have been able to do this by normal use of their PocketPC!
Try setting an alarm and leaving it, seems to do the trick!
