I broke my 4155 touchscreen and would like to get some functionality out of it. I have set up WMP and Voice Command so it will play MP3s in my car with out screen touches.

I have been trying to find a SIP keyboard that will allow using the Dpad to enter text so I can use a GPS program.

Any suggestions?

(I have replaced this unit with another 4155, but would like to use it as a dedicated music player/gps if possible.

Music player, small web server, gps voice guided interface, proximity
detector (w/gps ), ir remote, room alert movement detector, internet radio,
voice alert wifi detector, wifi door key ( transmits key code , allowing
access), wireless storage/backup, ebook reader (using flite voice, etc),
even audio books. Many, many more - its like having a microcontroller board
on steroids on top of everything else.

Setup is simple, using remote screen software on the pc.

And think about all that battery life you save from the screen. :)

To save having to navigate blind to the applications you want to run
at startup, you could grab Phillipe Majeures autoplay powertoy :
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketP [...] /#PHMAtPly

Media player can be set up to respond to chosen keys on the device
(the D-Pad and other keys for example) to do certain functions, so
once they're programmed you can play/pause, forward/back tracks and so
on with relative ease - no need for the screen or stylus.

Thanks for the useful suggestions. I should clarify though, the LCD
works fine, just the digitizer was damaged. I have since removed the
digitizer so I have a working ipaq with no way to do screen input.

A SIP panel with D-pad control of the selected letter would be great.
