My AMD 3800+ is being replaced by a 1.6 C2D(forget the model number)
Same ram and I hope that the 950 integrated beats my old ATO 400 go mobile.
Regardless this isn't my gaming computer anymore so the battery life gain will be astounding between the two.

The lowest frequency of all announced C2D products is 1.8GHz.

Is there actually a known issue with USB draining a ton of battery while idle?
Or are you just making things up?

Also I think my old laptop had better graphics although barely.
The X400 is better than the Intel 950 which is just an OC'd 900.
I figured "hell if it's 2 years newer it should beat my old graphics"
Wrong.

Yeah Tom's actually did some tests about a year ago. You should still be able to find it. Somewhat substantial difference.

Well the S.O.P. of any new system is to get all the Windows updates (at least the ones you want), so I'd say getting the hotfix would easily fall inside that range, :p

Oh if it's a windows update yeah I'll be getting it.
I'll have a legit version of windows.
Never played with media center.
Is it anything other than a fancified XP Home where your forced to use WMP?

You're not forced to use anything. It's standard XP (based more off Pro than Home, I think) with some extra software tossed in and a nice glassy look to the task bar and windows.

Oh, I was never real into WMCenter.
I figured it might have WMP more integrated but if it is just a step between home/pro and shinier windows/menus I can deal with that.
It will be really cool to have that controller.

You make that sound like a bad thing :?

Yes also check for BIOS updates right away as well as they can effect the life of your battery both in terms of how long it lasts on one charge and in how long it lasts period.

Most of the manufacturers only warrenty batteries for 1 year (but check just to make sure) and for the love of god if your battery is not meeting the expected work on battery time call in before the warrenty runs out...

Enjoy, it looks like a nice one :)

I could be wrong but I'm not sure it's listed when you do the "Windows Update" (I could be wrong though). I always go to google and type in "usb battery hotfix" or something like that and find the link that gets me to that update.
