Hi, I am completely clueless when it comes to choosing a PDA. I am looking
for one that has a hard drive with compact flash capability. I need to be
able to connect directly to my Canon Digital Rebel camera to store and view
large (6 megapixel) images in JPG format (and RAW too). And I want to
organize my addresses and calendar. Does one exist?

I hate to say this on a PPC Group, but the only palm sized beast with
an integral HD that in any way can be called a PDA is the new Palm
Lifedrive, with a 4 gig HD built in. For the rest, it'll do all you
ask. I've never seen one, so I'm only answering your question from a
"does it exist" perspective.

Well, there are a lot of PPCs out there running a 4 gig drive via a compact
flash drive. But this is exactly the problem - the average buyer does not
realize this, and such offerings as simple as storage space to be on par
with today's palm sized music players really should be obvious to the end
user.

Not to mention an OEM drive could benefit from some nice power saving
options (buffering, mass storage transfer on demand, etc) beyond which you
could have merely using a CF card drive - the key phrase here is "could
have", of course ( the life drive apparently does not beyond the simplest
power management, pretty much on par with a standard cf drive. )
