According to Microsoftâ€™s website, the latest version of AntiSpyware is
1.0.614 and â€œUsersâ€¦ will receive it as a software updateâ€?.

After an update, the version I have is 1.0.501.

Can anyone explain?

Go to MS Downloads and get the new version and install.
I had the same issue.
