Did you restart the machine after the driver install?

Try removing the card (from windows device manager and physically) rebooting turn off again then reinstall card (in different slot if you can)

Then run driver (check the linksys link i gave you )

That will take you right back where you are now with all your programs gone!

If you're that frustrated just quit with it for tonight.

You're almost there, its better to quit and start again later than start from scratch with the same problems.

Did removing the card and rebooting (see above) help?

(according to linksys you have to install the drivers before the card.

If I end up refortmatting and i run into the same exact wifi card issue, well then that sucks something horrible

but the Other Guy thought of something doable: uninstall the wifi card physically and through device manager
and try to restart and get it going from there:

You just did a WinXP repair installation, WinXP is fine at this point getting your onboard WiFi hardware is the problem.

Sometimes computers can drive you up a wall, its best to know when to quit and walk away, and try again another day.

okay then I will go and try the other guys method of complete reinstallation of the wifi card.

Oh, I should try to install the software without the card being in yet?

Okay I shall try (i was in the middle of removing the drivers, moving the card over a slot and then put the drivers on <at the point of booting into windows with the moved card> )

I am now shutting down and will remove the card and try to boot.
