Hi guys,
Just recieved the parts for a computer i am building for my sister, starting putting everything together.
Finished all the internal connectors, put the side back on and go to plug in keyboard mouse in, and relise that i havent put the faceplate on the motherboard!!
so its time to remove the motherboard, put the faceplater on, and close it all back up.
Start er up, everything works seems to be going fine, so i whack in the XP disk, only to get a weird stop error. i try again, and get a differnet stop error, rinse and repeat a few more times, till i decided to test the ram. whoops one faulty stick of ram!
So after i remove the faulty stick of RAM windows instalation goes away happily.
I finished the windows instalation process, and start installing chipset drivers etc, suddenly i hear a loud BANG
monitor goes dead.
I quickly turn power off at the wall.....
As it turns out it was the monitor exploding on me..
I have never had as much of a hassle as this building one cheap ass rig...
Wondered if anyone had a story that could beat this one...

Try 5 consecutive Athlon XP's fried due to excessive thermal paste application, before I gave up and bought a HSF with a thermal pad. And I'm sure that my story is nothing compared to some out there.
