Hi everyone,

Yesterday my iPAQ refused to move any further than the password screen when
I switched on. After ten or so soft resets the problem was still there.
I did a hard reset, then came across another problem when the backup files I
had taken with its own backup software were being reported as invalid. As
well as syncing with ActiveSync I had also used this to perform a full
backup. This file wouldn't work either.
On top of all that when I'm setting up a new partnership with ActiveSync it
refuses to see Contact, Calendar and the other Outlook functions.
I'm running out of ideas so if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

Paul

I assume you have backed up with Activesync and received a message saying
that "the backup was done by another device", or something like that.

If this is the case (you don't give much details), the backup will only
function if you connect as guest and don't change either the device name or
the regional settings of the device.

What I suggest, (again, if this is the case): do another hard-reset, and
connect immediately as guest to Activesync and restore the backup without
touching anything (or only changing regional settings to the same that were
used when the backup was done). It should work this way.
