Hello,
How to change device resolution to VGA(640*480)? Is there any key in
registry? I have found this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Display\GPE]
"LogicalPixelsY"=dword:00000060
"LogicalPixelsX"=dword:00000060

When I change LogicalPixelsY and LogicalPixelsX values to 96 or 192,
after a soft reset the resolution changes to 640*480 or 320*240?

Does this registry key works on all of pocket pc devices? or It's
specific for my Axim x50v?

I want to changes the resolution to VGA(640*480) by my program
installation.

Thanks.

I wouldn't do that if I understand you correctly. You are looking for a way
to force a PPC to 640x480 when your program is loaded? You understand that
not all PPCs support that resolution, correct? As a user it irritates the
heck out of me to have a program that forces my resolution to change. I run
my x50v in the normal mode and only rarely want the resolution to go to the
true VGA. Everything is way too small for me. I do like the clarity that
640x480 pixels provides on the standard display. Any program that forced it
wouldn't stay on there long. I'd give the user the option, and I'd certainly
provide a 320x240 option, or you'll lose 80% of the market.

You might try microsoft.public.pocketpc.developer for you question though.

You have a few choices. If you want to run "True" VGA all the time, use
either SE_VGA or OZVGA. You can then use individual applications to adjust
font size. Overall, though, as Sven says, it can get a bit wearing looking
at small (albeit pin sharp) fonts and task bars.

A good compromise is to use Tweaks2K, which allows you to set individual
applications to True VGA mode. For example, programmes like Internet
Browsers, Microsoft Reader, Email, Avantgo (but increase minimum font in the
application for some of these) all lend themselves to "Force VGA."

I've just finished experimenting with SE_VGA and OZVGA, and I think I'm
going to back to the Tweaks2K solution.

You can probably get more considered advice on all this over at
