Can someone please help?

When using a wireless connection, I can retrieve my email OK but can't
send email. I believe I have set up my account correctly.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so how is it rectified?

Regards
George

Thanks for asking this one - I'm having the same problem
with my X50v - just can't seem to figure that one out!

Most possible reason: your ISP doesn't relay email coming from external
networks to prevent SPAM and requires you to authenticate at the server to
know you are one of their users.

Go to your account configuration, get to page 4/4, press the options button,
go to page 2/3 and there check the checkbox "Outgoing server requires
authentication"

Good luck.

Can the AXIM do SMTP-AUTH? Many ISPs require that for sending.

Thanks Helio - you know when you have one of those spaced
out moments? Since I was getting e-mail when sync'ed, I
never even thought to set up the server options- DUH!!

Thanks again!

I've had a similar problem at my work - I couldn't send, but I could
receive email; I tried the smtp authentication, no go. It turns out
that the ISP at work doesn't allow any outgoing mail to any smtp server
that's not it's own - I was trying to send using the Google
smtp.gmail.net server. Now, I receive my gmail through the usual
mail.gmail.net, but send replies through my work ISP's stmp server,
once I got the proper log-in from the IT guys. AFAIK this is to help
prevent worms from sending virus-infected emails through their own smtp
servers.

I have a vexing problem with my Dell Axim v50v. I have setup npop
1.0.1 and it works very well at home over my wireless network.
However, when I go to my local coffee cafe, which has a hot spot used
by many people, it refuses to connect to the mail server, giving me a
message unable to connect to server. Back home, with no changes, it
works flawlessly. Any ideas?
